Diagnosis: 
“The coastal streams of the east coast of Queensland from about Brisbane north to the Tropic of Capricorn” (McMichael & Hiscock, 1938: 488).
Type-locality: 
Mary River at Tiaro, Queensland, Australia, 25°43’20”S 152°34’34”E.

The diagnosis used here essentially follows Iredale & Whitley’s (1938) figure. Whitley (1959) subsequently refined it to only include the Mary and Burnett Rivers, though his map depicted an area more in keeping with the definition used here.
